Not all families in Guilsborough had pets, so Lily quickly became a favorite play companion and a source of comfort during the challenging times of spring 2020. That's when I decided to write Lily's story and invite local children to draw pictures of Lily and their lives during the lockdown. I included these drawings in the book along with illustrations from a professional artist.

Now, I'm thrilled to share Lily's story with children all over the world who were affected by the pandemic. It's my hope that Lily's playful spirit and resilience can bring joy and comfort to kids everywhere.
